Trail running shoes

Trail runners shoes

Shoes are the main element of the trail running corridor and that is why it is essential to have that model that best suits our needs. The extension of running as a sport of masses and the variety of conditions in which we can practice make the choice of our running trail shoes even more important.

How to choose your trail running shoes

Our weight, the type of treadmill, the terrain, the impermeability, ... many aspects affect and that we have to take into account when it comes to knowing which model to choose. Here are some of these aspects and we will tell you what features you need to have the running or trail running shoe you need.

Weight and cushioning

The weight of the corridor is one of the factors that most influences when it comes to knowing what to buy. Increasing or decreasing the weight of a runner also increases or decreases the wear and tear caused by their running joints. In this way, they will not require the same features designed for heavy runners, one for lighter riders.

For those 'runners' with a higher weight we recommend running shoes with more damping and subjection than usual. Thanks to the added cushioning that will be offered to us, both in the front and the back of the foot, we will protect the joints and minimize the impact on them, thus avoiding possible injuries.

If, on the other hand, it is a lighter weight corridor you can afford to buy lighter running shoes, with less dampening and much more tactile terrain. Without a doubt, the best option for this type of runners.

Types of treading: pronator, supinator or neutral

The type of treadmill is one of the aspects that determine what kind of trail running shoes you need. In this sense we distinguish between three types of runners: the pronators (who perform a rotation of the foot into the running interior), the supinators (which rotate to the outside) and the neutral ones (which do not rotate in excess towards one or the other side of the foot). The type of treading will affect your way of running and may increase the risk of an injury, which is why it is important when choosing your running shoes.

Trail running shoes for pronators have a special stability and they use mechanisms such as single-sided double density to reduce pronation. Other models choose to reinforce the internal part to avoid excessive pronation in irregular terrain and the passage of kilometers.

By his side, the models designed for supinators usually incorporate a neutral buffer because they need a softer half-time stimulation of pronation. Finally, we find what we call trail neutral running shoes, which are models that do not have special reinforcements that avoid pronation or supination, although they can incorporate elements that reinforce their stability or cushioning.

Waterproof running trail shoes

Another factor that will determine the choice of running shoes is the presence of waterproof membranes, such as Gore-Tex. The incorporation of these membranes will protect us from the water and keep our feet dry in the most humid environments.

Gore-Tex also makes these shoes warmer and thus offer a greater comfort in cold environments. Waterproof models are, therefore, the best option for very humid climates and cold times. On the contrary, they are not recommended models for climates or warm environments, since incorporating these membranes lose part of their ability to perspiration.

Different lands, different shoes

The choice will be very determined by the type of terrain in which we plan to perform our activity. Running through urban or mountain terrain requires solutions to different challenges, so that for the choice of a model or another, we will have to define our field of action before. In our collection you will find the best models of trail running and asphalt shoes.

Shoes for trail running

The demands that are presented to us by the mountain paths at the time of running oblige us to go very well on footwear. The irregularity of their surfaces, the incline of the slopes or the presence of stones or clay make these models have developed their own characteristics that allow us to enjoy the trail running. One of the characteristics of trail running shoes is the optimum durability of their soles. The wear to which they are subjected to mountain surfaces and in long-term sessions makes this aspect decisive when choosing a finished product.

Another of the improvements constant by the manufacturers, is the search for greater traction and grip. This aspect, achieved thanks to the presence of tacos or special compounds in the gums of soles, is essential to keep us tightly on the surface and avoid slipping in slopes.

Running shoes for urban terrain

Not all trail track enthusiasts can train in natural terrain and it is usual that, especially in working days, they end up burning only on urban terrain. For these situations you need to have the product especially indicated for running by asphalt.

The models designed for asphalt are characterized by a special cushioning, since both cement and asphalt are very hard materials. In this way we can minimize the impact on our joints of running through surfaces as hard as we are in urban terrain.
