4 season sleeping bags
Sleeping bags -20 can be used both in store and in bivouacs, as long as weather conditions allow.
After a long day of activity, a good rest is essential to spend the next day. Success or failure during an expedition also depends on the rest, so it is very important to choose the model that best suits the demands of the land that we are moving for. Otherwise, the failure awaits us.
But ... do you know how this mountain item works? They do not warm up by themselves, but they do it thanks to the filling they incorporate into the interior of each of the heat panels.
The thicker the heat panels means it incorporates a greater amount of filling. This greater amount of filler allows to retain more air; heating and thermally insulating in a better way. Its function, therefore, is none other than regulating body temperature.
A feather filler, although more delicate than a synthetic filling, offers higher thermal performance in the same amount of filling compared to the synthetic. In addition, it compresses much more; something very important if we have to transport it to the backpack. However, in humid environments, its performance decreases. For this reason, in our stores you can find waterproof bivouacs for use when conditions so require.
Although most are repellents in water thanks to its outer fabric, they are not waterproof. Since, if they were, they would not transpire enough. And breathability is a necessary benefit both to eliminate sweat in the form of steam and to avoid condensation. In this way, a microclimate is generated that regulates body temperature during rest.
The thermal benefits are marked by both the quantity and the quality of the filling. For this, it is important to mention two data.
The quality of the pen is determined by two numbers. An example: 90/10. The first figure; in this case, 90, indicates the percentage of duvet. The duvet comes from the abdomen of birds such as goose or duck. It is much more elastic and light than the feather, as well as being more expandable (it fills a lot better).
The 10, the other figure, indicates the percentage of pen feathers that exist in the filling; that is, those that are of lower quality.
On the other hand, CUINS (CUbic INches or cubic inches) indicate the quality of the filling. To have the right material in the mountain, from Vertic we recommend the use of sleeping bags -20 which, at least, have 600 CUINS. The CUINS mark the inflation capacity of the pen.
After use, it is important to ventilate it. That yes, no matter how hard it may be, it should never be done directly under the sun's ultraviolet rays.
When we do not use it and store it in the closet, it is important that you do not lose thermal performance. For this reason, our specialists recommend that you keep it in the compression cover by introducing, firstly, the front. It is very important that feathers do not remain on a regular basis. Thus, we avoid being in the same position.
